Yuma City Booking Records

The county offers one of Arizona's best daily booking reports. This page covers how to access Yuma arrest and booking records from both city police and county sources.
Yuma City Booking Quick Facts
Yuma Police Records
The Yuma Police Department Records Unit handles city police records at yumaaz.gov. The office is at 1500 South First Avenue, Yuma, AZ 85364. Call (928) 373-4700 for general police inquiries. Email Records@YumaAZ.Gov for records questions. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. These extended hours make it easier to submit requests outside normal business hours.
Case reports cost $10. Auto accident reports are $5. Background check requests run $10. The 911 recordings cost $25. Digital media is $46 per hour with a one-hour minimum. This covers the time staff spend reviewing and processing video or audio. Photos cost $15. LexisNexis adds a $9 processing fee to some requests handled through their system.
Include as much detail as possible when requesting records. The date of incident, names involved, and case numbers help staff locate files quickly. Vague requests take longer because staff must search more broadly to find matching records.
Yuma City and County Booking
Yuma Police transport arrestees to the Yuma County Detention Center. The county has an active online inmate search at inmatesearch.yumacountysheriff.org. Unlike many Arizona counties affected by recent court rulings, Yuma County still maintains its online inmate search. The daily booking report lists everyone booked in the past 24 hours. This makes Yuma one of the more transparent jurisdictions in the state for booking information.
The inmate search lets you search by name or view the full daily roster. Results show charges, bond amounts, and current custody status. The system updates throughout the day as new bookings occur and people are released. Recent arrests may take a few hours to appear after the booking process completes at the detention center.
Yuma County provides some records free including adult arrest records, booking photos, and letters of incarceration. Most counties charge for these items. Yuma's free records policy makes it easier to get basic booking information. See the Yuma County page for full details on the county jail and records. The county also provides case reports and traffic accident reports for $3 each.
Arizona Booking Records Law
Yuma booking records fall under Arizona's public records statutes. ARS 39-121 establishes the right to inspect public records during office hours. This applies to police reports, arrest logs, and booking documents. Both Yuma Police and Yuma County must provide access to these records upon request.
The statute at ARS 41-1750 addresses criminal history records specifically. It exempts police blotters and daily arrest logs from stricter restrictions. This provision is why Yuma County can publish its daily booking report online. The law allows contemporaneous disclosure of arrest information to the public.
Some information must be redacted. Victim names and contact details are removed under ARS 13-4434. Juvenile records stay confidential. Active investigation files may be withheld until cases close. These exemptions protect privacy while allowing broad public access to most booking and arrest records.
VINE Notification Service
The Arizona VINE system provides custody notifications statewide. VINE tracks inmates in Yuma County detention facilities along with jails across Arizona. Crime victims can register to receive alerts when custody status changes. This adds another layer beyond the county's online search.
Register at vinelink.com or call 1-800-247-9763. Choose to receive alerts by phone, email, text, or through the VINE mobile app. The service runs 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Registration is free and confidential. VINE sends automatic alerts when an inmate is released, transferred, or escapes.
Note: Even though Yuma has good online inmate search, VINE provides automatic alerts so you do not have to keep checking manually.
