Cochise County Inmate Search Status

After legal review of the Houston v. Maricopa County decision, Cochise County stopped posting mugshots and inmate lists on the sheriff's website. This change took effect in September 2024. The county made this choice to comply with the Ninth Circuit ruling about due process concerns.

You can still access booking records through other channels. Call the sheriff's office at 520-432-9500 for inmate information. The non-emergency line is 520-803-3550 or toll-free at 800-362-0812. Staff can confirm if someone is in custody and provide basic booking details.

Cochise County uses NextRequest for formal public records requests. Visit cochise-az.nextrequest.com to submit requests online. This portal tracks your request and sends updates as it processes. You can request booking reports, arrest records, and other documents through this system.

Cochise County Records Fees

Cochise County charges $3 per report for the first ten pages. Each additional page costs 50 cents. Fingerprinting services are $5, cash only. These fees apply when you request copies of booking records and other documents.

The records division is at 205 N. Judd Drive in Bisbee, AZ 85603. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. You can request records in person, by mail, or through the NextRequest portal. Payment methods vary by request type.

Arizona public records law requires agencies to make records available promptly. Any person may request copies during regular office hours under ARS 39-121.01.

The Arizona VINE system provides custody notifications statewide. VINE tracks inmates in Cochise County jail along with facilities across Arizona. Crime victims can register to receive automatic alerts when custody status changes including releases and transfers.

Register at vinelink.com or call 1-800-247-9763. Choose to receive alerts by phone, email, text, or through the VINE mobile app. The service operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Registration is free. This is especially useful since Cochise County no longer posts inmate lists online.
